A Minnesota witness recalls an incident from May 1968 when his car shut off on a rural road as a bright red, glowing disc passed overhead, according to April 5, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness had driven just a half-mile from a cabin on Spirit Lake along City Road 28 heading west toward Highway 169 when his vehicle stopped dead in the middle of the road. Looking out the driver’s window, the witness observed a UFO.
“This bright red, glowing disc about four feet thick and about 15 feet across came right over the trees from the south, passed right over the car from left to right over the trees on the other side of the road heading north towards Aitkin. It made no noise and it was just above the trees moving very slow, but steady. It only lasted about 30 seconds or less. I did not know what to do. It took a couple of minutes and I was able to start car again. I quickly turned the car around and went back to tell my parents.”

Minnesota is a current UFO ALERT 4 rating, with a high than national average number of UFO sightings nationally. Minnesota had 16 UFO reports in March 2011 – while California had 45 sightings, the highest reporting state in the nation.
