Witness sinks boat after UFO emerges from Texas river
A Texas witness recalls events from February 1, 1976, when a UFO moved under the small boat he and his father were in along the Sabine River, lit up the water around them, and then moved out of the water and into the sky at tremendous speed, according to April 1, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The father and son first noticed a light in the water about 4 to 6 inches across. The father thought that the son had dropped a flashlight on board the boat into the water. But then the water around them lit up and the chilly morning temperature rose.
“I am not sure how it happened but the water around the boat lit up so bright it was like daylight,” the witness stated. “The light was about 15 to 20 feet around the boat. It came close to the boat and stayed still for a few moments. I remember it was cold that morning but at that moment it felt like it was around 80 or so degrees.”
Then the object moved quickly out of the water.
“Then bam, it shot through the water faster than I had ever seen anything move. I watched for a few moments, by this time the day was getting a little lighter and I noticed a wake forming about a mile or so from the boat. It just rose up out of the water without a boat. It was a big wave like the ones barges make. I thought it was cool but My Dad looked like he was going to be sick.”
The two later noticed that the aluminum boat appeared to be magnetized. With the help of his uncle, the witness watched the two men take the boat out into the river and sink it.
“And the boat was an aluminum boat, which I learned many years later that aluminum is not magnetic.”
No town name was mentioned in the MUFON report. No images were included. The Sabine River runs 555 miles through both Texas and Louisiana.
