Four Illinois witnesses report watching “a huge fireball” rise up from nearby farm land, climb into the sky, and head northwest into a dark and cloudy sky on April 29, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witnesses stepped outside facing the western sky where there is “miles and miles of fields and various farm lands.”
“I right away seen a fireball – bright orangish red – rising from the ground,” the reporting witness stated. “It looked to be about 2-3 miles away. It hovered for a minute or two not getting up to high and it started moving to the northwest.”

The witness said that the object was very large.
“This thing dwarfed any other lights in comparison, even from the distance between us and the object. It was huge!”
The witness attempted to chase the object with a car, but was unable to see the object again.
This is not the first time this witness has seen this object in this area. “We have seen it in the same spot a few times in the past year. There were four of us that witnessed it.”
No images or video were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on April 30, 2011. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report.
