The Gilcrux UFO – Cumbria

Once again the Cumbrian region of the UK has produced an inexplicable UFO sighting.

I was contacted by a witness named Mr Bill Gillan on 25 August 2011.

Bill explained that he had videoed a strange object outside his Lakeland cottage in Gilcrux. Bill told me:

“On the twenty first of this month, I saw a UFO that took my breath away, there was no engine noise and there was revolving lights on this object, the police came down and made a report about it, the video of this UFO was very lifelike, and to tell you the truth I was scared, because it came from nowhere.”

I found this issue interesting because Cumbria has indeed featured strongly as a UK UFO hotspot for quite some time, with Bill’s report being the latest sighting.

Moreover, Cumbrian UFOs have (as in many other places) often been associated with seismic activity. I have covered this particular issue in depth on several occasions.

Interestingly, Bill’s UFO sighting followed a series of recent earth tremors felt up the coastline in Scotland.

At first a white object that appears to be a bird flies across the frame. However, at around 30-34 seconds into the clip two unusual orange flashing lights can be seen travelling across the sky.

Bill assured me that this was not an aircraft and that it was completely silent. We have also ruled out the ubiquitous Chinese lanterns.

The camera used was the latest Canon SX30IS Zoom PowerShot.

I also brought this sighting to the attention of my friend, Nick Pope, a distinguished fellow UFO reporter. Nick agreed that at this stage no conclusive opinion could be made as to what Bill had in fact witnessed.

I would be interested to hear of any further UFO reports from this Gilcrux region, and I urge the Cumbrian press to accentuate the matter in order to generate further witness reports coming forth.
