A longtime Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) member knows all too well that seconds count with UFO sightings when his wife ran into the house screaming just after 2 a.m., August 18, 2011, after watching a “solid, black triangle” UFO move silently overhead with one red-orange light at the tip and three down each side, according to testimony from the MUFON witness reporting database.
The man’s wife was in the backyard with the family dog while he was in the kitchen at the time. Upon hearing her scream and obviously upset, he went outside to investigate.
“She was trembling and told me she had witnessed a large, triangular craft pass over our house. It was a solid, black triangle with seven soft, redish-orange unwavering lights – one at the tip and three down each side. There was no sound whatsoever and appeared to be gliding very slow on a northwesterly heading.”
The MUFON members said he was outside in 3 to 5 seconds, but missed the UFO.

“This thing was gone that quick. I’ve been a member of MUFON for quite some time and have always told her when she’s out at night – always look up – and tonight she found out firsthand why.”
No images or videos were included with the MUFON report. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.
Iowa is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Iowa had 8 reports in July 2011 – while California had 54 UFO reports – the highest reporting state in the nation.

IA, August 18, 2011 – Had dog outside and when started back to house noticed large triangular shape craft with seven redish orange solid lights,no sound. MUFON Case # 30976.
My wife had our dog out to do her business a little passed 2 a.m. (cst) I was in our kitchen when she threw the door open screaming for me,very shaken. I ran out in my shorts thinking someone was in our yard.. She was trembling and told me she had witnessed a large triangular craft pass over our house.
