Received the following email from UFO Digest reader Tom, from Maine, United States. He includes a description of the event below his photo below. It is interesting to note that this photograph was taken almost exactly two-years ago, but the objects in the photo were not noticed until recently.

Description of incident: Photo was taken on my Motorola Droid at 11:34 AM on May 9, 2010. I was simply taking a picture of the scenery outside McGovern’s restaurant on Mother’s Day. I did not notice the 5 white objects in the sky until recently when looking at old pictures. I suspect they may be birds, but I cannot say for certain. There also appears to be some ghosting around the 5 objects that I can’t explain because other areas of the image do not display the same effect. I’d love to hear from anyone who can help me determine what the objects are.
This is what I wrote Tom back:
That photo is really something Tom. Not sure what it is. There is
evidence of vertical movement by the straight lines below the white
spots. I will have a few people look at your photo and try to get some
explanations for you. Thanks for contributing. Dirk
