Two Illinois witnesses standing outside October 14, 2011, report watching a “triangle shaped UFO” with a humming noise and lights arranged in a V-shape just a few hundred feet away and a few hundred feet in the air, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The object appeared solid and at times transparent.
The object was just a few hundred feet away and a few hundred feet in the air when the two Illinois witnesses watched it move, and then disappear.
“Surface of ship appeared transparent, yet solid?” the reporting stated. “Dull black or gray, but also transparent at times.”
The object then became “invisible” and the humming noise stopped.
The witness said it was “as if it completely disappeared. UFO was only a few hundred feet away, and a few hundred feet in the air. Size of maybe a private jet or a little bigger.”
No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on October 14, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.
Illinois is a current UFO ALERT 3 rating, with a high number of UFO sightings nationally. Illinois had 21 reports in September 2011 – the 11th highest reporting state – while California had 86 UFO reports – the highest reporting state in the nation.
