A Montana witness reports a 3 to 4-foot diameter “black sphere” heading north 40 to 50 feet off the ground and just under 200 yards off of Highway 191 south of Belgrade, according to May 19, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The object was moving along at between 20 and 30 mph when the witness first saw it.
“My first thought was that it was a balloon, but the wind that morning was out of the east and blowing real hard and this thing was not being buffeted by the wind whatsoever,” the witness stated. “It continued unaffected by the wind for a distance of about 200 yards, bobbled a couple of times and rapidly descended to a height of about 8-10 feet and just sat there. I watched for a bit and seeing no further movement went on my way.”
A black sphere was spotted flying low over fields just south of Belgrade, MT.

The witness refers to a Googled videotape where the object in the video looks like what was seen – except that the video is apparently computer generated. The video can be seen here.
No images or video were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on May 19, 2011. The event occurred on May 15, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Belgrade is a city in Gallatin County, population 5,728.
