‘Blob’ UFO photographed over Oregon surrounded by ‘distorted air’
An Oregon couple reports watching a silent, “odd shaped blob” crossing the sky one-quarter mile away at about 1,500 feet altitude on April 24, 2011, “with an aura or energy field that seemed to distort the air” around it, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The object moved eastbound.
“At first it looked like a large vulture that was soaring, but then as it got closer we could make out the shape better,” the reporting witness stated. “No noise, but my wife and I both noticed some sort of aura or energy field that seemed to distort the air right around this thing.”
The witness stated that he “got one decent picture, but when I tried to zoom in on it my camera started acting erratically and then I lost track of the object.” See Photo # 1, and Photo # 2 (a cropped and enlarged version).
The witness called a nearby brother who also tried to photograph the object, but also had trouble focusing the camera.
No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on April 25, 2011.
Oregon is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Oregon had 8 UFO reports in March 2011 – while California had 45 sightings, the highest reporting state in the nation.

OR, April 24, 2011 – Odd shaped object floating by. MUFON Case # 28807.
Spotted this odd shaped blob passing by about 1500 feet altitude, traveling with the wind West to East and about 1/4 mile away.
At first it looked like a large vulture that was soaring, but then as it got closer we could make out the shape better. No noise, but my wife and I both noticed some sort of aura or energy field that seemed to distort the air right around this thing.
I then ran inside to get my camera while my wife kept watching. Got this one decent picture, but when I tried to zoom in on it my camera started acting erratically and then I lost track of the object.
Called my brother that lives on the other end of town to see if he could see it, and he immediately did spot it and tried to photograph it but had the same problem with focusing.
