UFO Disappears Into Lake St. Clair

Two St. Clair Shores, MI, witnesses report watching a light descend to Lake St. Clair where it was seen as a saucer shape “with large dome on top” with orange and green lights and hovering 10 to 15 seconds before submerging in the water and moving away, according to May 5, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The two friends and a parent had just attended a tree lighting ceremony at nearby Jefferson Library when they stopped at a party store. The parent went into the store, while the two friends remained in the car and witnessed the UFO.

They first watched the light in the distant sky, but the object was in a descend mode and dropped to just above the lake.

“As it neared the horizon and water level out there on the lake it slowed drastically and orange and green sequencing illuminations were present,” the reporting witness stated.

The witness described the shape of the object.

“The shape appeared to be saucer on the bottom with larger dome on the top. It entered the water very slowly as we had 10-15 seconds of viewing the lights and the craft to get totally freaked out as it disappeared underwater still somewhat illuminating the water from below far offshore.”

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on May 5, 2011. The incident occurred in December 1996. St. Clair Shores is a city bordering Lake St. Clair in Macomb County, MI, population 59,715.

Michigan is a current UFO ALERT 4 rating, with a high number of UFO sightings nationally. Michigan had 19 UFO reports in April 2011 – while California had 46 sightings, the highest reporting state in the nation.
